We are passionate about sustainable living and positively contributing to the environment. HempWood® really can make a difference; the hemp is organically grown then combined with a plant-based adhesive, resulting in a carbon negative flooring choice.

Our Story

The idea of using hemp as a sustainable wood substitute was inspired by the experiences of our founder, Greg. Greg and his development team have worked tirelessly to adapt the process of creating lumber that utilises different plant species like hemp.

First HempWood® Production

August 2019

The first HempWood® was manufactured in Kentucky, USA after years of research, development and innovative thinking.

HempWood® flooring declared as Carbon Negative

August 2022

HempWood® Flooring received its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) verification, announcing that it is a carbon negative product.

HempWood® finally in the UK

January 2024

HempWood® flooring has arrived in the UK. We are very excited to have exclusivity of such a creative and innovative building material.

Purpose

Hemp is a powerful plant. Estimates show that for every ton of hemp grown, 1.62 tons of carbon dioxide is removed. Combined with our plant based adhesive, HempWood® is one of the healthiest materials to have in your home.

This is an unmanned display area with display boards showing all of our HempWood® flooring. Samples of flooring are available on the display stand but if you require a different sample, please contact us and we will be happy to send them to you for free.

Enter the building centre, go all the way to the back of the building, go down the staircase, turn left of the bottom of the staircase. Finally, turn right and our stand is at the end of the corridor (next to the Bamboo Flooring Company, our sister company).
